My Vision for GCISD

Today, more than ever before, we need people in decision making positions who respect rational objectives and are guided in decisions by common sense, understanding, and the solid values that have served this community and its citizens so well for so long.  We can’t know the future, but we do know how to face it.

Vision for the Future

Going forward, GCISD will be tested by unfunded federal and state mandates, a declining elementary enrollment, an aging population, and rising inflation costs.  Important decisions will have to be made to keep our property values rising and dollars in the classroom, all while remaining a taxpayer champion.

At the same time, other factions will try to distract by raising issues that should never be issues, much less matters for schools.  Instead of focusing on ways for our schools to fuel the growth, development, and expansion of our children’s minds (and our local economy), other factions now argue endlessly about things our parents would have settled in seconds.

As a GCISD parent of 2 children, I have a vested interest in GCISD offering superior education provided by outstanding teachers who have the right classroom resources.

Calm and Steady Leadership

As a lawyer, recognized for the last eight years as one of Texas’s Super Lawyers, I’ll bring more than two decades of experience to the Board.  This includes using my experience with the Texas Education Code to maximize dollars for the classroom.  I’m used to complicated facts, tough decisions, and work under pressure.  I know who I am and where I stand, and you will as well.

Today, more than ever before, we need people in decision making positions who respect rational objectives and are guided in decisions by common sense, understanding, and the solid values that have served this community and its citizens so well for so long.  We can’t know the future, but we do know how to face it.

I would be grateful for your support and your vote.  Early voting begins on April 22 and goes through April 30, with election day on May 4, 2024.
